Unix Administrator (Permanent Night Shift)
Selangor - Cyberjaya

Responsibilities:

• UNIX Admin performs day to day operational activities of all UNIX Servers.
• To develop automation process using Unix shell/batch scripting languages
• Other responsibilities include management of FTP servers, operating system upgrades, patching, security hardening, presenting storage to servers and installation of 3^rd party software.
• Responsibilities also include performance tuning and coordination of activities with customers.
• Also includes working with vendors and the development of procedures for repeated activities and resource management of clusters.

 

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Master's Degree, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.
• Experience Supporting IT infrastructure in large organization
• Experience in Unix environment Shell scripting is a MUST  (Korn, Bash, Perl, etc)
• Experience in at least one of the Unix platforms – AIX, Linux, Solaris. Preferable in AIX.
• Unix Platforms
• 7+ years SUN Solaris, 8, 9 and 10 System Administration
• 3+ years experience in Solaris 10 container administration
• 3+ years SUSE Linux, and RedHat System Administration
• 7+ years AIX, VIO, HACMP administration
• 5+ years of VERITAS Volume Manager/File system and/or Sun Volume Manager administration
• 3+ years experience supporting and administering either SUN/ VERITAS Clusters/AIX HACMP across various platforms
• Experience with the use of local zones/container in a VERITAS Cluster is a strong plus
• Experience  in Shell Programming for System Administrators (SA-245) or Shell Programming for System Programmers (SL-120CU)
• Unix certification or relevant experience preferred
• Knowledge of Windows and AS400 System Environments a plus  
• VMWARE ESX Server experience a plus
• Experience with BMC automation tools is a strong plus
• Knowledge of third party support utilities such as Legato Enterprise Backup, CA TNG Unicenter, Symantec Enterprise Security Manager and Symantec Intruder Alert
• Strong basic network skills
• Ability to work independently
• Strong troubleshooting skills
